High Protein French Toast
Ingredients:
- 1/2 scoop vanilla LA Whey protein powder
- 2 Tbsp skim milk (water also works fine)
- 3 egg whites
... - 2 Slices bread
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 3 Strawberries & Blueberries
Directions:
1. Heat an electric griddle to 400 degrees or a pan on the stove to medium-high heat.
2. In a shallow bowl combine the protein powder and skim milk.
3. Add the 3 egg whites and beat until completely mixed (approximately 2 minutes).
4. Coat both sides of the bread in the shallow bowl
5. Place the coated bread on a sprayed or non-stick cooking surface and cook until done (about 4 minutes).
6. Add the honey and fruit on top, enjoy
Here are some additional toppings you can add to the recipe to boost your carb intake and add even more flavour to the recipe
- Bananas and blueberries
- Bananas and peanut butter (maybe even some maple syrup)
- Apple slices and applesauce (cinnamon!)
- Peach slices
- Sugar free/Low calorie syrup
- Honey
- Almond butter
- Peanut butter
- Sliced almonds or granola for a crunchy topping with greek yogurt
- Make it a sandwich with peanut butter and jelly/bananas in between
- 100% fruit spread
